About

I study Computer Science and Statistics at Ain Shams University, Faculty of Science, in Cairo. It's a double major, which in practice means two sets of foundations and two graduation projects — one in each discipline. I expect to finish in 2027.
That combination shaped how I work more than any individual course did. Statistics is largely the discipline of not fooling yourself: you don't get to say something worked, you have to say how you would know. Computer science is what lets you build the thing in the first place. Together they produce a fairly specific habit — I build systems, then try to find out whether they're actually doing what I claimed.
That's why most of what's on this site has a number attached to it, and why some of those numbers are unflattering.
What I work on
Retrieval and LLM systems — hybrid search, evaluation, local inference. Clustering and statistical analysis. And the unglamorous layer underneath: containerisation, deployment, and the monitoring that tells you a service is unhealthy before a user has to.
I arrived at the infrastructure work sideways. On NexoBot I was building the frontend when it became clear that nobody could answer whether the service was actually healthy — it either returned text or it didn't, and everything else was guesswork. So I built the instrumentation. It turned out to be the part I found most interesting.
Training
I completed the Data Science and Generative AI track at the Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative (DEPI), Round 4, from November 2025 to July 2026 — NexoBot was the graduation project. Before that, IBM SkillsBuild's AI Fundamentals with capstone, and around 120 hours of Flutter training with ITI.
What I'm looking for
Roles in data analysis, data science, or AI engineering. I'm based in Cairo and open to remote work.
What I'm still learning
Power BI and Tableau, properly
I've built dashboards, but with Grafana and code rather than with BI tools. I'd rather say that plainly than let a tools list imply otherwise.
Multi-document synthesis in retrieval
The specific gap behind the 0.54 completeness score on Campus AI, and the next thing I want to solve.
More supervised modelling
My machine learning work so far has been mostly unsupervised, and that's a real edge of my experience rather than a preference.
